1. Every driver starts as a user
To drive with Car Share you first sign in as a user with your phone number. From there the driver application takes about five minutes and costs nothing, and you can keep booking rides as a passenger while we review it.
Open it from Discover by tapping Become a Car Share driver, or from Menu by tapping Apply to become a driver.
2. What you send us
- Your vehicle. Make and model, number plate and how many seats you have for passengers. Colour is optional. Then choose the type: Car, Truck, Mini Bus or Pick Up.
- Three photos. Front, inside and back. The number plate must be easy to read in the back photo.
- Your driving licence. A photo of the front in good light, with all four corners in the frame. Your name, photo and expiry date must be readable.
- Two confirmations. That your licence is valid, and that your insurance lets you carry passengers on a cost-shared trip.
Then tap Submit for verification.
3. What we check
- A valid driving licence.
- Vehicle photos of the front, inside and plate.
- That the number plate matches the vehicle.
Until you pass, your trips stay unpublished.
4. Why each check matters
Passengers rely on what we check. The licence shows you are allowed to drive. The photos and the plate are how a passenger finds the right car at pickup: the app shows the photos before they board, and the full plate once you accept their request. When everything matches, passengers can get in with confidence, and the start code does the rest.
5. How long it takes
Most applications are reviewed within 24 hours. Yours moves through three stages:
- Applied: vehicle details, photos and licence submitted.
- Under review: our team is checking them.
- Verified: your trips are published and the free Verified driver badge shows on your profile.
We tell you the result in the app and by SMS.
6. Not approved the first time?
You will see the reviewer’s reason and how to fix it, for example a plate that can’t be read in the back photo. Retake it, send it back, and we usually review it again within 24 hours.
